A lot of email users are not aware that it is possible to access all of their email in one single location instead of having to visit different websites to catch up on the different email accounts that they have. Even those in the know how are limited to only a few options and the best known email client (thanks to Microsoft’s monopoly in the OS department) is obviously Microsoft Outlook and its younger brother Outlook Express. Since nearly 90% of the civilized world runs on Windows OS, it goes without saying that all of them will come preinstalled with Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express.
In the event that you don’t have Windows OS on your system, or for other reasons you are interested in another email client, well I have just the right one for you. Let me introduce you to POP Peeper. According to the manufacturer, “POP Peeper is an email notifier that runs in your Windows task bar and alerts you when you have new email on your POP3, IMAP, HotmailMSNLiveMail, Yahoo, Mail.com, MyWay, Excite, Lycos.com, RediffMail, Juno and NetZero accounts. IMAP support allows you to access AOL, AIM, Netscape and other services. Send mail directly from POP Peeper and use the address book to email your frequently used contacts. POP Peeper allows you to view messages using HTML or you can choose to safely view all messages in rich or plain text. Several options are available that will decrease or eliminate the risks of reading your email (viruses, javascript, webbugs, etc). POP Peeper can be run from a portable device and can be password protected. Many notification options are available to indicate when new mail has arrived, such as sound alerts (configurable for each account), flashing scroll lock, skinnable popup notifier, customized screensaver and more.” More information is available on the homepage at http://www.poppeeper.com/.
Whew, this should more than state what POP Peeper is capable of and how efficient it is in managing and accessing all of your email in one place. Did I mention that it also accesses Gmail? One major strength of POP Peeper is that it will access and download your Yahoo Mail, which as everyone knows is not possible unless you sign up for POP3 and Forwarding with Yahoo! Mail Plus (http://mailplus.mail.yahoo.com/), which will cost $19.99 per annum. I know it sounds ridiculous to pay to access your own mail in this day and age, but that’s the way Yahoo operates. To counter this problem there are a lot of workarounds available on the internet most notable of them all being YPOPs! (http://ypopsemail.com/), which lets you access your Yahoo Mail via POP3, however, YPOPs! needs to be integrated with another email client so you can check your Yahoo Mail for YPOPs! by itself will not display your Yahoo Mail. If you do need to use another email client along with YPOPs! then POP Peeper makes more sense since it is another email client, but will let you download and access your Yahoo Mail without the need for YPOPs! or any other such add-on or plugin.
Another strength of POP Peeper is that it handles attachments without any problems whatsoever and it even lets you download any attachments directly to your system in case you want to go through them on the system and not via the browser or POP Peeper.
By the way, did I mention that POP Peeper is freeware and available free for life, however you can donate to the author for this fantastic piece of software. To sum it up, POP Peeper will be a value addition software to your system and you will not regret getting this wonderful software for the way it organizes and simplifies your email access and brings all your email under one roof.
