Of late I’ve been struggling with an issue and I prayed and sought the Lord Jesus Christ to fix it and to find a solution for it. The Lord Jesus Christ’s revelation was to pray in tongues as much as possible every day. Yes from morning to night and even through the night pray in tongues or pray in the spirit as much as possible and this will fix the situation. As I was musing over this and doing the needful I thought it would be a good idea to revisit once again about the importance of praying in tongues in one’s life.
The number one enemy I’ve always encountered (and so will everyone else) is the flesh. It’s not satan, wrong doctrine, other people or anything else. The very first thing you will need to conquer to achieve anything is your own flesh. The flesh just does not want to work hard and always wants to take it easy. Even in the matter of prayer one will first start being distracted from prayer because of their flesh. In such a scenario praying in tongues will really help one to conquer one’s flesh and also overcome it (Rom 8:13). Praying long hours like the Lord Jesus Christ instructed me is possible only by praying in tongues, it’s just not possible to pray long and hard when praying with our understanding. Praying in tongues also keeps us safe from wrong teachings and wrong doctrines and also from making vain repetitions in prayer (Matt 6:7). Rom 8:26, 27 also speaks about praying the right prayers and praying the will of God when praying in tongues.
Jude 20 says “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit”. Praying in tongues is the number one way you can build up your faith. Creflo Dollar said that you build yourself up and make the problem you are facing smaller in your own sight when you pray in tongues. Otherwise in the flesh one has a tendency to magnify their problem and make it appear bigger than it really is. You will build yourself and in fact pray yourself over your problems by praying in tongues. Praying in tongues will build your faith in God (which is really the Biblical faith) and not build faith in one’s own ability or flesh. Read and meditate on the entire Book of Jude, it very clearly speaks on how praying in tongues will increase and build up one’s faith and also keep one safe from erroneous and wrong teachings and doctrines. I can assuredly say that if you spend time praying in tongues there is no way you will be deceived. I’m not talking just about the anti-Christ here, but I can tell people just by looking at them. The Holy Spirit gives me inner revelation about a person and I can see a person for what they really are. Of course this is not to share with others and badmouth a person, but just the Holy Spirit’s way of revealing to me and prevent me from being deceived. Spend time praying in tongues and you will find that no one can take undue advantage or deceive you in anyway. I can personally say that I’ve learned the most and understood the Bible and the Word of God by praying in tongues the most. Human reasoning and understanding will never accomplish this. Only illumination and revelation knowledge will accomplish this. Revelation knowledge is a huge and very important subject in itself and I will not get into it right now, but your knowing will increase as you spend time praying in tongues.
I encourage you to spend at least an hour everyday praying in tongues and possibly more if possible. You will see all your weaknesses being stripped away and yourself being endowed with strength and you will also find so many blessings and miracles taking place all around you.
