In all my dealings with born again, Holy Spirit filled believers I have come across there are invariably two areas most will struggle with i.e. health and wealth. Now to get straight to the point, the number one reason believers struggle is because of not fellowshipping with God or simply put the branches are not connected to the True Vine (John 15:5).
Let us take the instance of Joseph who prospered no matter where he was and no matter what he was doing. He was sold as a slave and he ended up becoming the highest in authority in the household only next to the actual owner himself (Genesis 39). Joseph was then thrown into a prison for a crime he never committed and yet he prospered there to such an extent that he became the head of all the prisoners (Genesis 39). Joseph continued to prosper (yes from the prison) till he became the ruler of Egypt and only was next to the King of Egypt in that entire kingdom (Genesis 41).
Now how did Joseph prosper always and in everything he did? The answer is found in Genesis 39:2 “And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man” and this is again repeated in Genesis 39:23 “because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.” The mistake most people make is in chasing prosperity instead of seeking God and fellowshipping with Him. Once you begin to do that and seek His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33), you will find all things are added to you and prosperity will follow you in all things.
