Palli (Peanut) Chutney Recipe! Perfect Complement To Indian Pancakes!

At the outset let me mention that you can experiment and come up with variations by changing the ingredients. I will list two variants that I go with when preparing breakfast.

1st variant –
Ingredients:

  • Roasted peanuts 1 cup
  • Onion 1 medium size (optional)
  • Green chilies 4
  • Coriander 1 small bunch
  • Salt to taste

Seasoning:

  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • A few curry leaves
  • Split black gram dal ½ tsp

Method:
Grind all the ingredients to a fine paste adding water or yogurt. Season it.

2nd variant –
Ingredients:

  • Roasted peanuts 1 cup
  • Green chilies 4
  • Garlic pods 5 to 6
  • Cumin seeds 1 to 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 1 tbsp

Method:
Heat oil in a small pan and add cumin seeds, green chilies, and garlic pods. Fry for a minute and grind to a fine paste adding roasted peanuts, salt to taste, and water.
