At the outset let me mention that you can experiment and come up with variations by changing the ingredients. I will list two variants that I go with when preparing breakfast.
1st variant –
Ingredients:
- Roasted peanuts 1 cup
- Onion 1 medium size (optional)
- Green chilies 4
- Coriander 1 small bunch
- Salt to taste
Seasoning:
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- A few curry leaves
- Split black gram dal ½ tsp
Method:
Grind all the ingredients to a fine paste adding water or yogurt. Season it.
2nd variant –
Ingredients:
- Roasted peanuts 1 cup
- Green chilies 4
- Garlic pods 5 to 6
- Cumin seeds 1 to 2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil 1 tbsp
Method:
Heat oil in a small pan and add cumin seeds, green chilies, and garlic pods. Fry for a minute and grind to a fine paste adding roasted peanuts, salt to taste, and water.
