OpenID Accepted Here! Technology Working For Us!

OpenID is now serving on this website. You can now sign in and/or register with your OpenID instead of using a username and other details, or having to create a username or user ID for this website. In fact this is true of any website that accepts OpenID to register, login, leave comments, etc. In case you are wondering whatever is OpenID, well OpenID is a Foundation of which many biggies like Google, Yahoo, etc. are members, and the main idea behind this OpenID Foundation is that internet users all over the world should not need to create an ID to register on a website and add to their already huge list of online IDs and email IDs. Come to think of it, each of us has so many IDs even just for our personal emails. It is a different one for Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Hotmail and so on for many other emails, and God forbid if you are a forum frequenter since you will need to have a username or a user ID for the forum, give out your email ID to register (and if you are anything like me and don’t want to give out your personal email IDs,) you will end up making fake or spam email IDs which you will then use for registering on such websites and also to give out for spammers and other websites where registration and submitting an email ID is mandatory to even get into the forum or the website in question. All of this means we have a pool of online IDs, user IDs, email IDs etc., and really this is indeed a big headache if you do ever forget any of them, or genuinely have trouble remembering so many of them. To address this very problem the OpenID Foundation got together and decided to streamline the process of registering and/or signing up on different websites and the idea with which they got together to make this process easier for us is by letting all users choose one common username or user ID and use that single ID to register across all websites that are a part of the OpenID Foundation and mind you the OpenID Foundation is big and getting bigger by the day with more and more websites tying up to offer OpenID on their websites.

There are excellent resources available on the internet giving more details about OpenID, where you can get an OpenID, how to use an OpenID and any other information that is needed about OpenID either general or specific so I will not go into providing those details, but just go ahead and read up all about OpenID on these links at – What is OpenID?, Where can I use my OpenID?, How do I get an OpenID? Of course Googling OpenID will throw up a lot more information hence these links are just a starting point.
