As I turn a year older…. how old is something we will leave for now, actually forever! Every year usually my thoughts on my birthday are of regret. Yeah you read that correctly. Now don’t get me wrong. It’s not that everything is going wrong with my life, in fact far from it, but the regret I have usually has to do with what I have not done, or not done better, or could have done better and all of this especially in regard to God and His work. This year however the Lord graciously turned my thoughts toward what I have to be thankful for this past year since so many wonderful things have taken place in my life. As I look back on the past year in my life I am made aware of so many blessings that our Lord has bestowed on me and my family. We moved into and settled down in a wonderful new home that our Lord blessed our family with. Dad retired and we celebrated his 60th birthday so wonderfully. The best thing however that happened to me was that I got married to the best person in the world with Grace Mallika Bushi becoming Mrs. Grace Abraham Nela. Yes, you heard that right again a second time. I did get married to the best person in the world at least for me. As I look back, this was a decision that the Lord made for me. I will not go into the nitty-gritty details of how it all started, but one thing that played a really important part was my praying in tongues or in other words praying in the spirit a lot. If there is anything that I have learned and learnt well, it is the importance of praying in tongues/spirit on a daily and regular basis. In fact as Paul said "I speak in tongues more than you all" (1 Corinthians 14 v18), it has been my practice to pray in tongues/spirit as much as I can and at all times. This is one powerful blessing that our risen Savior has bestowed on His church and every believer and it is a blessing so powerful that it has the potential to change lives and impact them and those surrounding the believer so powerfully that it’s hard to put it in words. I can only urge everyone reading this to get baptized in the Holy Spirit if they are not and then to pray in tongues/spirit as much as possible on a daily and regular basis. It will change your life in ways that your "eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Corinthians 2 v9).
My birthday began with a surprise! At the stroke of midnight my wife, sister and mom and dad made me blow candles and cut a chocolate cake and even sang happy birthday.
