Motorola has tied up with Tarsin (Europe) to provide you with “easy, secure and wireless backup of your mobile phonebook” and this has really proven to be a boon for me as recently as this week when I ended up losing all the contacts on my mobile phone due to a firmware update.
Motorola backup is very simple and works great on just about any and every Motorola mobile phone. All you have to do is visit motorolabackup.com/mobile on your Motorola mobile phone browser and download a simple application. Thereafter it’s a simple process of following the onscreen instructions and then you can sync all the contact information on your mobile phone with your online account which will be automatically created at https://motorolabackup.tarsin.com/home.htm and that too all from your mobile phone. The user will have to create a PIN to access his profile and make any changes. This will also work both ways in the sense you can make changes online in your profile and the same will be reflected on your mobile phone, but of course you do have to run a sync on the mobile phone. The best part is it is absolutely free and the only expense you will encounter is the data charges on your mobile phone being that it is a complimentary service provided by Motorola to all their customers.

Give it a try and you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy and safe it is. The only drawback is when you change your mobile number it will take some doing to import all contacts from the old number to the new number. The same however is not a hardship when you change the mobile phone as long as the number remains the same. Also, the syncing is not limited to just names and numbers. It also works great with multiple numbers, email IDs, website URLs, physical addresses, birthdays, anniversary dates, but I’m sure the contact information details are known to every Motorola user. Very highly recommended and definitely a lifesaver for me.
