Had a holiday today (rather applied leave) and so ended up taking the wife to Jodhaa Akbar (or was that the other way around???). Anyway coming to the movie itself it was long at 3 hr 42 min, made on a large canvas, beautiful to behold and entertaining enough that we did not get bored or regret going to the movie. Aishwarya, well what can one say about her? She looks beautiful throughout the movie, has done a good job of what is required of her and is a perfect foil to Hrithik. Coming to Hrithik, he is a revelation and really amazes with how much he has grown as an actor. He plays the part and looks the part of a Mughal Emperor and it’s really difficult to even imagine anyone else in the role Hrithik has made his own.
Special mention must be made of Ashutosh Gowariker who has really come into his own with Jodhaa Akbar. While it’s no Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar still measures up quite well against Gowariker’s previous outings. Go ahead, it’s worth a watch.
