Most people do not know what faith is. Honestly! There are people who believe God can do it. They believe God can heal, deliver, prosper and so on. Unfortunately, this is not faith, but can be aptly called knowledge or better still Logos.
The next misconception about faith is that God will do. There are many people who live with the thought or belief that God will do. They wait on God with the thought that God will heal me, God will prosper me, God will deliver and set me free. Unfortunately, this again is not faith, but can be aptly termed as hope. Hope is better than knowledge but it is still not faith. Faith is what pleases God, not hope or knowledge. If you are looking to please God then faith is the only way to do this (Hebrews 11:6).
Now what is faith you might wonder? Well faith is believing that God has done it. Yes that’s right, believing and acting as if God has already done it is faith. Many scriptures from the Word of God prove this such as 1 Peter 2:24, Ephesians 1:3. All of them speak of God already having blessed us, healed us. It’s our job to believe and act on them. Instead of doing that however we are all the time asking God to do something or waiting on God to do something. Even our Lord Jesus said the same thing in the chapter on mountain moving faith Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Believe that you have received them, in other words believe God has given them and then they will be yours. Believe God has already given and put your faith to work and you will soon see the mountains move in your life.
