Happy New Year 2009!

Wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2009! My prayer for you all is from III John 1:2.

The NIV says “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”

The NKJV says “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

The NASB says “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.”

The Amplified Bible says “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.”

There are lots more translations, but what I want to draw your attention to is the fact that God desires your all-round benefit, not just spiritual. He wants us to be blessed materially, enjoy good health in our bodies, and grow spiritually. My prayer is you gain a deeper understanding and a personal experience of all this in a much greater measure in the year 2009.
