Finally got around to setting up FeedBurner RSS and Atom feeds on this website. It took some doing since it was not redirecting to the FeedBurner feed and stayed put with the default WordPress feed. There were two resources available on the internet that helped with setting up a FeedBurner feed and to get it up and running on this site. If you are planning on doing the same with your website or blog then you will need to check out Setup Your WordPress Blog With FeedBurner and How And Why To Use FeedBurner. Both have detailed explanation in setting up FeedBurner feeds on your website and also options on optimizing the same.
FeedBurner itself has various sections and options like Analyze, Optimize, Publicize, Monetize and Troubleshootize, all of which are self explanatory and should take no time in setting up. Only problem you might run into is putting up FeedBurner’s feed on your homepage or header especially if you are using WordPress or Blogger templates just as I am on this website. I had to resort to editing the header file to replace the default WordPress feed with the FeedBurner feed. Once this is done you will have FeedBurner up and running on your website or blog and within 24 hours you should get all the statistics on your FeedBurner homepage. FeedBurner also lets you integrate your Google AdSense Account with FeedBurner feeds so you can even monetize your RSS feeds.
If you are a blogger and publish your content via RSS then you will definitely want to get FeedBurner which will enable you to publish your RSS feeds in a more powerful and friendlier medium, ping search engines, publish it, and also give you more control over your feeds and provide you with powerful statistics about your readership base.
