ColorPic Review! A Great Piece Of Freeware That Will Save You Tons Of Time!

I have been meaning to write a review of ColorPic for a while now, but kept putting it off. Not anymore! ColorPic is a great piece of software/freeware that will save you tons of time. It’s very easy to use, so simple and yet so powerful that you will be amazed how you managed to work without it till now.

ColorPic

Firstly, what is ColorPic? ColorPic is a color palette creator and even more importantly a color picker that will pick any color that you see and give you the Hex Color Code so that you can duplicate the color and use it anywhere you want. A few years ago Yahoo had a yellow color on its website, especially the banner section that I liked, but never could duplicate to use it for myself. If only I had ColorPic to use at that time, the task would have been so easy, but still better late than never now I have been introduced to ColorPic and my job of picking colors and creating colors that I want has been made so easy by this piece of amazing software.

If you are a blogger and need to keep optimizing the colors on your blog, then let me introduce you to ColorPic. With ColorPic installed on your system, choosing colors, creating a palette of colors or even simply ripping off colors from somewhere else is a breeze. Now you no longer need to wonder what’s the color that is being used on a particular blog or a website. All you need to do is load ColorPic and grab the color that you like and presto ColorPic will give you the Hex Color Code that you can then use to come up with the same color or something close to it. Copying color was never so easy!

ColorPicOne area that I have really found optimal use of ColorPic has been in the managing of ads displayed on my blog. If you will note that I have inserted ads that blend in and are the same color as the blog’s theme. All I did was use ColorPic to pick the colors on the theme and then use the Hex Color Code generated by ColorPic to come up with the same color in AdSense and other ad networks that I use to display ads on my website. To pick a color all you have to do is move the mouse over the color and hit the control key + G on your keyboard and presto the color and the Hex Color Code is grabbed by ColorPic and loaded onto its palette. From there you can copy the Hex Color Code and insert the same where customization is allowed to come up with the same color. These days color customization is allowed just about everywhere. In fact I have even customized the colors of Feedjit so that it’s in congruence with the entire theme and the color of my blog and does not stand out like a sore thumb. Another great feature of ColorPic is WebSnap which when selected will choose web-safe colors nearest to the original color. This will prevent dithering of your colors on systems with 256-color displays, but this is a feature that I don’t use.

To sum it up, ColorPic is a great piece of software that is freeware and does not cost anything. It’s an absolute lifesaver and a timesaver too especially for those who need to come up with quick color palettes and also if you need to copy color and frequently change it, which is the case with most bloggers who design and chop and change their blogs frequently like myself.
