The music of Allu Arjun’s latest offering Parugu after the hugely success Desamudhuru is here and here is my review/take on it.
The album starts off with the peppy Parugulu by Ranjith and it’s got a good tempo and rhythmic riff on the background complementing the song throughout and a fast paced number to kick things off on this album. The rhythmic riff raff from Parugulu also continues on the next track Nammavemo by Saketh, which is a slow number and the intro does seem out of place, but then the number picks up on its own strengths as it progresses as Saketh does a good job on it. This song will grown on you with replays. The 3rd track on the album Yelageyalaga by Kailash Kher, Saindhavi sounds like the typical mass song created for the masses in us, but really does not strike a chord and is no Aa Ante from Arya which will still get everyone’s feet stamping if not stomping outright. A waste of the immensely talented Kailash Kher on Yelageyalaga! The tempo is upped on the next song Chal Chal by Ranjith again, which takes off in narration mode about the hero and his friends and talks of letting go and walking in happiness and joy. The slow and the sad Hrudayam by Hemachandra is up next and talks about how the heart cannot bear pain. Things are rounded off on the album by the final track Manakanna Podiche by Rahul Nambiar with the hero extolling his virtues here, but again this does not strike a chord.
A decent album, which should do well if the movie is a success, but not a musical strength on its own and very unlike Bunny’s (to the uninitiated Allu Arjun) music considering he has giving huge musical hits in the past. Even the fans will find it tough to lap it all up on this one and it remains to be seen how they are picturized in the movie for maximum impact.
