2009 was, and even more so 2010 will be, the year of the app.  Apple's App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch crossed 3 Billion downloads and Google's Android OS and Android Market came into their own.  Added to this the next generation of superphones based on the Snapdragon processor at 1 GHz and Intel's Moorestown, mobile phones are all set to upstage and even replace laptops in many ways.  An interesting article/read on the 14 favorite apps of 2009 by the author at Gadgetwise.  Details here.
